During all the times, SWUFE focuses on scientific research. It
sticks to the guide line of “rejuvenating and thriving our
school with science and research”, takes academic advantages
while zeroing in on economics. The main purpose of its scientific
research is to boom economics, serve financial industry and develop
local economy. Thus SWUFE gradually developed into an important
research center for theoretic and practical issues concerning
economy in western area, national finance and social development.
"China finance research center ", the important research
base for liberal arts and social science ratified by Ministry
of Education, is located in SWUFE. The school is also home to
Chinese western economic research center, economic research center,
population research center and other research institutes. The
research distributes over 8 disciplines including economics, management,
law, philosophy, engineering, science, literature, education ,and
over 18 first degree subjects.
Since the reform and opening up in China, SWUFE won 14000 awards
of scientific and research results, conducted over 400 important
research projects at national and provincial level, won 230 scientific
and research awards at national and provincial level. During “the
ninth 5-year-plan”period, SWUFE gained leading numbers of
projects of first round national social science fund grants for
economic projects among higher learning institutions. Our teachers
and research staff completed over papers including Property Right,
Main Body Property Right, Financing, Currency, Banking, Finance
Conspectus, on Finance, Finance Reconsideration, Modern Enterprise
System, E’Tan Experience: New Thoughts into Large Investment
Projects, Study on anti-poverty Strategy in Chinese Western Rural
Areas. The university Press has won the honor of Excellent Press
by State Press and Publications Administration and Excellent Press
of Higher Learning Institutions by ministry of Education for three
times in a row in six years. The university’s journal the
Economist is the excellent national social sciences journal and
is entitled Social and Economic Efficient Journal by State Press
and Publications Administration. The Science of Finance and Economics
is a national core economic Journal.
The School is a academic exchange center of economics and management
both home and abroad in western areas. Every year it sponsors
and hosts influential academic conferences including China Finance
Forum, International Seminar on China’s Labor Market and
Reemployment Policy, 2002 Chinese Accounting Professors Conference
.Guang Hua Forum, as a big label forged by the school is becoming
an important platform for accelerating academic activities and
exchange. Nobel prize winner Robert A. Mundell, famous economists
Wu Jinglian, Huang Da and celebrities such as Shen Liantao, Zheng
Haiquan, Ma Weihua lectured on .Guang Hua Forum.
