Established only in the early 2000, SWUFE-METC (SWUFE Modern Educational
Technology Center) is a very new setup in SWUFE. It is a working department that
provides a complete set of services for SWUFE's teaching, research and
management.
What is SWUFE-METC for?
SWUFE-METC lists it in its tasks to provide SWUFE's teachers and researchers
with advanced auxiliary teaching implements, favorite research environment and excellent technical
support for the purpose of SWUFE's keeping in pace with the development of modern eductional
technology, intensifying the scientifc and technological concentration in teaching and diversifying and
modernizing the teaching methods in order to extensively promote the teaching level.
SWUFE-METC's missions for the near future:
- Extending the application of CAI (computer aided instruction), training and helping teachers and students
in designing teaching implements.
- Designing superior teaching implements and setting up teaching implement base to support
SWUFE's distance education.
- Providing teaching and practice service for students' computer-related public courses.
- Management of the multi-media lab of SWUFE.
- Construction and routine maintenance of SWUFE-NET.
- Providing technical support service for SWUFE-NET users.
- Development of the SWUFE-NET application system.
- Taking charge of the construction and technical maintenance of the information system.

METC's open-up CAI lab
As science and technology are rapidly advancing, especially after the arrival of the new millennium,
the development of computer technology and IT is now changing our lives. No matter
who you are, if you cannot keep up with the pace of the time, you will be dropped out. So,
it's necessary to be mentally pressed, to keep learning new technology and to renew our
knowledge all the time. Only by doing so can we stand firm in the advancement of time.
Thus, our open-up CAI lab came into being for this reason.
METC's open-up CAI lab is established under SWUFE for the purpose of
SWUFE's keeping in pace with the development of modern educational
technology, intensifying the scientifc and technological concentration in teaching
and diversifying and modernizing the teaching methods in order to extensively
promote the teaching level.
What is CAI for?
By setting up an open-up CAI lab, we mean to provide SWUFE's teachers
and researchers with advanced auxiliary teaching implements, favorite research
environment and excellent technical support to devote to the promotion of SWUFE's
teaching level and the further and sustainable development of SWUFE. The old fashioned
"chalk and blackboard" teaching method has fallen behind the time now.
In order to free teachers from the traditional teaching method and equip them with modern
one, METC's open-up CAI lab will not only provide teachers with softwares,
hardware resources and technical support for their designing of teaching implements, but also
provide them with regular technical training. We will continuously collect, compile, study and
develop new related technical products to meet our teachers' new needs in techniques.
We cherish the hope that our teachers will adopt this new and modern teaching
method and say goodbye to the old one to keep up with the development of the times.
